The origin

Our history, our future

Seriola Ibérica was founded in April 2019 with a clear purpose: to launch a pioneering project that would put the city of Alicante on the international map of sustainable aquaculture. Since then, our focus has been on the future of the sea and how to feed it responsibly, innovatively, and with respect for the environment.

In July 2023, we took a historic step by receiving final approval for the construction of our state-of-the-art facility, designed for the closed-circuit farming of Seriola Dumerili. 

Our infrastructure, the first phase of which will be completed with the start of fattening operations in January 2026, represents much more than a production facility: it is a symbol of innovation, a commitment to sustainability, and confidence in the potential of the Mediterranean.

Seriola Ibérica is, in essence, the union of vision, technology, and respect for the sea. A project born in Alicante, but with a global vision.

State-of-the-art infrastructure for a more sustainable sea

Our facility has been conceived as an international benchmark in sustainable aquaculture. Designed with the most advanced RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) technology, it allows us to raise Iberian Seriola in a fully controlled environment, minimizing water consumption and guaranteeing a near-zero environmental impact.

This innovative system allows us to maintain optimal water quality at all times, ensure the well-being of the fish, and optimize natural resources responsibly. Every detail of our infrastructure responds to a common goal: to unite technology, science, and innovation to produce healthy food efficiently and sustainably.

More than just a facility, it is an ecosystem created to demonstrate that the aquaculture of the future is already a reality in Alicante.

Committed to the sea, responsible for the future

At Seriola Ibérica, we understand that innovation only makes sense when it goes hand in hand with sustainability. Our environmental commitment is present in every decision: from plant design to daily production processes.

Thanks to RAS technology, we reuse most of the water, reduce emissions, and optimize natural resources. This allows us to minimize our ecological footprint and guarantee a production cycle that respects the marine environment.

We believe in aquaculture that not only feeds the world, but does so while protecting biodiversity and caring for the ecosystems that surround us. Because producing in the Mediterranean is also a responsibility to future generations.
